REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY LINE

Stage 1 - Fit Rear Axle Mounting Bracket
• Assembles 650 to 700 (approx) left and right hand pairs per 8 hour shift using 5x Operators
• Manufactured by PCI (Souchaux) with Etfa transfer and Wohrle CNC control
• Equipment dating from 1990 – 2006
• Footprint (Approx): 31m x 21m

Main features include:
Manual Loading, prepare mounting bracker (L&R) and fit to jig, Autoload main support and fix, Autoload rear articulation support bush and fit, Autoload front articulation support bush and fit, Press main support, Assemble with central tube section, Inspection and autofeed to Main Assembly.

Stage 2 - Fit Rear Axle Radius Arm & Drum / Disc
• Assembles 650 to 700 (approx) left and right hand pairs per 8 hour shift using 17x Operators
• Manufactured by PCI (Souchaux) with Etfa transfer and Wohrle CNC control
• Equipment dating from 1990 – 2006
• Footprint (Approx): 40m x 31m

Main features include:
Manual Loading, Validation of component, Load and insert axle pins, Insert internal roller bearing, Insert external roller bearing, Insert protection rubber and fit drum, 4x screwing for drum, Fit handbrake cable, Balance brake shoes, Fit washer and Locknut, Insert bolts and grease, Nut locking station, Fit end cap.

Stage 3 - Final Assembly
• Assembles 650 to 700 (approx) finished rear axles per 8 hour shift using 29x Operators
• Manufactured by PCI (Souchaux) with Etfa transfer and Wohrle CNC control
• Equipment dating from 1990 - 2006
• Footprint (Approx): 50m x 20m (overall footprint stages 1, 2 & 3: 64m x 64m)

Main features include:
Loading, Validation of component, Greasing, Assemble axle with radius arm and drum, add number and bar code, Fit top and bottom torsion bar, Verify axle movement, Fit shock absorber, Fir brackets, Screwing of shock absorber, Fit brackets, cable, screws etc. Fit main & flexible pipe to brake, Final inspection, Overhead conveyor with stacking.
